Is this app free?
Yes. OpenL includes free daily usage for text, image, document, and speech translation, and you can start without logging in. Need more credits or longer translations? You can upgrade to a Subscription account.
How many characters can I translate at once?
You can translate 1,500 characters at a time on the free plan. Need more? Paid plans support much longer translations, with higher limits for text and documents.
How many languages does OpenL Translate support?
OpenL Translate provides translation in over 100 languages, covering widely used languages like English, Arabic, French, Russian, and Spanish, along with niche options such as Ancient Greek, Old Norse, Toki Pona, and Emoji. It supports text, screenshots, images, documents, and speech with fast, context-aware AI translation.
What payment methods are available?
We currently accept Cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover, Diners Club, JCB), Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal. Additional payment methods may be available based on your country.
Is my payment information secure?
Your transactions and payment details are securely handled by our payment provider, Lemon Squeezy, using advanced encryption technology and strict adherence to banking industry standards. Your credit card information is sent directly to the bank, and OpenL does not access or store any payment information, ensuring your payment security.
Do students get education discounts?
Yes! If you're a student or teacher with an edu email, email us at hi@openl.io to receive a 30% education discount code.
What happens to my documents after they are translated?
Your privacy is our priority. We don't store any of your translation data. Once the translation is done, all data is immediately deleted. The translation history remains only in your local browser and is never uploaded to our servers.
How to cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription at any time via the Billing page. Cancellations take effect after the current billing cycle ends.
Can I request a refund?
Refunds can be requested according to our Refund Policy. Please refer to the policy for details on eligibility.
What's the difference between web and iOS subscriptions?
Web subscriptions are for the website only, while iOS subscriptions are for the iOS app only. They cannot be used across devices. Please choose the subscription based on your device.
