What Is a Cursive Font Generator?

OpenL's cursive font generator turns regular letters into flowing script like 𝒽ℯ𝓁𝓁ℴ and 𝓱𝓮𝓵𝓵𝓸. It isn't a real font. Each letter is swapped for a matching Unicode character, so the style stays when you paste it into Instagram, TikTok, Discord, X, or anywhere else that accepts text.

Which Cursive Style Should I Use?

Where Cursive Text Works

Cursive text shows up correctly in Instagram names, bios, captions, and comments, as well as TikTok, Discord, X, Facebook, and WhatsApp. Most phones and browsers made in the last few years can display it. Some games and older apps can't, and show empty boxes instead. Usernames and handles usually only allow plain letters and numbers, so put cursive in your display name instead.

Things to Know Before You Use It

Cursive letters are symbols, not regular letters. Screen readers may read them one by one or skip them, and search won't match a name written in cursive. Only the letters a–z and A–Z change. Numbers and accented letters stay as they are. Use cursive for decoration, and keep important information in plain text.

FAQ

Cursive Font Generator FAQ

Answers about cursive text, where it works, and why some letters look different.

How do I get a cursive font on Instagram?
Type your text above and copy the style you like. In Instagram, go to Edit profile and paste it into Name or Bio. It also works in captions, comments, and stories.
Is this a real font?
No. The generator swaps each letter for a Unicode character that looks like cursive. There's nothing to install, and the style stays wherever you paste it, as long as the app supports Unicode.
Why do some letters look different or show as boxes?
A few cursive letters, such as ℯ, ℊ, ℴ, and ℬ, come from an older part of Unicode, so some fonts draw them in a slightly different style. Boxes mean the device's font doesn't include the character. Try Bold Cursive or Italic instead.
Can I use cursive in my username?
Usually not. Most apps only allow plain letters, numbers, and a few symbols in usernames and handles. Use cursive in your display name, bio, or posts instead.
Can I write numbers in cursive?
No. Unicode has no cursive numbers, so digits stay as they are. Accented letters and other symbols also stay unchanged.
Is OpenL's Cursive Font Generator free?
Yes. It's free with no sign-up. Your text is converted in your browser and never uploaded.
