What Is Upside Down Text?

Upside down text is regular writing rotated 180 degrees, so it reads like ʇxǝʇ uʍop ǝpᴉsdn. It isn't an image or a special font: every letter is swapped for a real Unicode character that happens to look like that letter turned over, such as ɐ for a, ǝ for e, and ʎ for y. The order of the characters is also reversed, so the result reads correctly when you turn your phone around.

Because the output is plain text, you can paste it anywhere that accepts typing — Instagram bios and comments, TikTok, Discord, WhatsApp, X, Facebook, YouTube, games, and email.

What Can't Be Flipped?

Unicode only has upside-down look-alikes for Latin letters, numbers, and common punctuation. Letters from scripts like Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, or Cyrillic have no flipped version, so they are kept as they are and only their order is reversed. Emoji and accented letters stay intact.
